I got lucky; mail had stopped coming into my fiance’s COP in Afghanistan for three weeks, and my two Valentine’s Day care packages finally showed up just before the holiday. CHA CHING. Granted, all the gifts were edible (so happy with the recipes–check them out at http://armypantsandflipflops.com/2013/02/14/a-valentines-day-care-package-nothing-says-i-love-you-like-three-sticks-of-butter/).

His gift to me was a screenshot he took at the MWR of him having purchased all seven Harry Potter books for his Kindle. I’ve been trying for YEARS to convince him to read them, and he was adamantly against it. He gave me the gift of victory, and it is delicious.

We visited the distillery in St. Croix several years ago; we love Cruzan. Any kind of rum will work, but Cruzan is usually what I have on hand. They are pretty good with spiced rum, too!
