Before there was Downton Abbey there was Sense and Sensibility. This film is one of my all time favorites. It is filled with many great quotes, one of which I have used above for this Valentine’s Day eCard.
The long nights of a deployment can seem even longer on holidays. If your Valentine is far from home this night, know that you are not alone. Everyday that you are separated is one day closer to being reunited.

I got lucky; mail had stopped coming into my fiance’s COP in Afghanistan for three weeks, and my two Valentine’s Day care packages finally showed up just before the holiday. CHA CHING. Granted, all the gifts were edible (so happy with the recipes–check them out at http://armypantsandflipflops.com/2013/02/14/a-valentines-day-care-package-nothing-says-i-love-you-like-three-sticks-of-butter/).
His gift to me was a screenshot he took at the MWR of him having purchased all seven Harry Potter books for his Kindle. I’ve been trying for YEARS to convince him to read them, and he was adamantly against it. He gave me the gift of victory, and it is delicious.

That is great his package arrived in time! The Chocolate Tootsie Roll cookies look AMAZING. I’m going to try making those for sure. That is funny about the Harry Potter books!
