Playing the Waiting Game
So last Friday our PPM/DITY turned into a full Navy Move/Partial PPM. We were able to use the move.mil web site, but only after a phone call and trip down to Jax (since after the first call they never picked up the phone again).
They told us to just Log on and switch our move, but it’s not that easy. They had to cancel our previous move paperwork and reset the system for us (which they didn’t do until we made a 40 min. drive to visit the transportation office). Then when we logged back on we had to ‘schedule’ or register two moves; one for the Navy to come out and pick up 10,000 lbs and then a totally separate move to set up the Partial PPM. Wasn’t there a time where you could do all of this in one registration…. oh maybe that was smartwebmove… or wait, (gasp) in person. LOL
So now that our move has totally changed we are waiting, this time for our pack out date. We requested a date that is only a short 4 weeks away, so we’ll see how that goes. Hopefully if they have to schedule us for another date, it’s not too horribly far from the date we requested. We should find out within the next few days, or at least that’s what we were told.
So it’s the waiting game now… I guess I can start unpacking all the boxes I’ve previously packed…lol
