Wow, so this is the long awaited update. I’ve been MIA for quite a while… geeze, who knew a baby could completely turn your life upside down? Just when I think I have a handle on the art of motherhood, I come falling back to reality and realize I’m far from it.
As if life isn’t hectic enough with a six month old, trying to do the dishes, laundry, mopping the floor or getting a shower in is like trying to prepare for a life altering event. This past few months have been full of busy days, wakeful nights and more busy days… whew! Between trying to apply and get accepted to school (both of which I’ve done successfully) and survive three section duty (although thankful hubby isn’t on deploy or an underway, it’s still rather difficult) mixed with shift work in the yards… I feel like if my head weren’t attached I’d certainly lose it!
Between all of that, I’ve been spending one to two days a week on the phone with a person who has been outsourced by Dell to handle technical computer problems. After much frustration and several headed/shouted “PLEASE JUST LISTEN” phrases I was lucky enough to have a technician come and replace most of my laptop. If it wasn’t my computer that wasn’t working it was the internet itself that was down. I won’t even go into detail about what I had to do to get a connection that would last long enough to check the bank and email. Thanks to the Comcast workers, the internet is up and running!
Just when I would think I was going to go insane a smiling boy would roll up in his walker babble and blow me a raspberry as if to say, “Mommy, it’s going to be okay.” And, at the end of the day when I needed to unwind I’d sit down on the floor with Tristyn and play. The best thing would be taking his ever ticklish toes and getting a good laugh out of him; to me that is one of the best sounds in the world is hearing a baby/child laugh and squeal.
So, when I thought I’d lose what was left of my sanity because of computer woes I’d turn to my son’s baby toes and regain my sanity all over again.
